The Re-Fashionista Pledge

I, Nancy, pledge that I shall abstain from the purchase of "new" manufactured items of clothing, for the period of 4 months. I pledge that I shall refashion, renovate, recycle preloved items for myself with my own hands in fabric, yarn or other medium for the term of my contract. I pledge that I will share the love and post a photo of my refashioned, renovoated, recylcled, crafted or created item of clothing on the Wardrobe Refashion blog, so that others may share the joy that thy thriftyness brings!

So, there you go. And the pledge does not include workout gear, shoes or undergarments, in case you were wondering :). After my big closet clean-out and then the article in the New York Times about the Cambridge study on how "disposible clothes" impact the environment, it seems a particularly timely idea! I'm not entirely clear on the rules governing fabric purchases, but I have enough in my stash that I won't have to confront that for at least the first month or two.
