I know! It's been ages. But you see, Spring came to San Francisco and I had to frolic while the getting was good.

I also made a few things that had to be kept top secret until they were received by a certain birthday girl. Since she now has them in her possesion, I think she won't mind if I show you.

A batik circle skirt with an elastic waist (so it will be comfy, as the birthday girl will be having an unrelated birth day later this summer).

A simple tote made with more awesome Japanese fabric from the amazing super buzzy.

And a pair of gold and plummy pearl earrings. The pearls came from Lulu Beads, which I highly recommend for quality, price and extremely pleasant service if you're in the market for jewelry supplies!

My lovely friend Nancy gave me her copy of Sew Stylish, which I am really enjoying. I've already ordered their Simplicity pattern and look forward to making the springy dress and cool cropped, puff-sleeve jacket (suddenly, projects for the fabric from my last post!). Though that will have to wait, since I leave on a week-long trip tonight! I hear tell there is WiFi where I'm going, so I should be able to pop in and say hello, though how much crafting will happen remains to be seen.
