2007-03-23 * Bookish For my bi-monthly "learn something new" column on Get Crafty, I decided to tackle making a hard-back, fabric-covered journal. I'll be writing about the process in depth, but had to show you a sneak peek at the results! I miscalculated the width of my cover boards, and sewed the signatures a bit wobbly, but people, I made a book! I used the eminently excellent tutorial on Curiously Crafty, and bound it with beloved Etsuko Furuya Echino fabric I bought at Purl Patchwork well over a year ago. I looked around online to see if it is still to be had, and it seems that Crafty Planet still carries it, so get over there quick if you want some! I took advantage of the beautiful day to do some terrace gardening(I'd show you pictures but all you'd see is dirt in planters, since I was sowing seeds), then had a lovely afternoon tea
