Since I appear to be in a bit of a crafty funk- just not inspired by my works in progress or any new ideas- I'll share more culinary adventures with you!

My brunch with Sabrina and her baby was lovely

The strata was good, though I think I'd omit a few eggs next time, as it was a bit too eggy for me. We also had coffee and yummy fruit salad in my grandmother's cut glass bowls. Her baby had already eaten so she just read the New York Times and waited for us to be done. Tee hee.

Since I had brunch, which meant I wasn't hungry for lunch but knew I would be later, I decided to bake something from the new MS Living for tea. There is a whole section of "one bowl desserts", which is kind of a lie, since if you have to separate eggs, you need another bowl for the yolks, but anyway. I made some chocolate-centered vanilla cupcakes and used my beayooootiful Kitchenade Artisan Mixer for the very first time. Thank you Camilla and Mikah! It is the best thing that has ever happened to my kitchen. Anyway, I halved the recipe, because I only have a 6-cup muffin tin, plus I don't really need to have 12 cupcakes hanging around the house. They turned out delicious, though I think I didn't add enough chocolate in the centers

My milk frothed even better than usual for the cappuccino, yum!

Hopefully I'll be a bit more crafty over the weekend!
