Meet Rosie

Shhh, don't tell her about Frank, ok? I'm not introducing you to Rosie willy-nilly-- I've been careful. Rosie has been with us for about a month now, and not only is she still alive, this is her second bloom! And she is actually in better shape than when I bought her at the market. Not all of her blossoms are the same color. Some are more yellow

and some are more reddish-orange

I've been pampering her-- watering her whenever she droops the slightest bit, spritzing her leaves, talking to her. I was blithely telling my mother that I was planning to re-pot her(Rosie, not mom) in a larger container once I pulled the dead plant out of it when suddenly, i noticed that there was a brand new green shoot coming from the dead plant! So I'm calling it the Lazarus jasmine, since it has been brown and crackly and very dead-looking for months now (yes, i've left a dead plant on my terrace for months, what of it?). Of course I can't uproot it now, so I'll have to find another place to put Rosie so she can grow to her full potential.
