2006-10-02 * The Chicken at the End of the Rainbow So today I accomplished something really exciting-- I made a perfect roast chicken! I know it is supposed to be the easiest meal going, but I just haven't had any luck in the past-- the skin is always floppy and the meat undercooked. This time it was gorgeous and brown and juicy! I used Ina Garten's recipe (lemon and garlic in the cavity, brush of butter and lots of salt and pepper on top). I think my roasting pan is a bit on the large side, so my vegetables came out more charred than carmelised, but they taste very good nonetheless. And speaking of vegetables-- I made rainbow veggies! Rainbow carrots: And other culinary show and tell Today's mission was cleaning and organizing, so hopefully tomorrow I'll have more fun crafty things to show you! And oh! Another Friday project (which you've all already seen) was the re-design of this here blog. Hope you like it!
