2006-08-17 * Change and Chicken My husband (hah! still feels new and a little funny calling my sweetie that) asked why I haven't written more about the joy of married life. Suffice it to say that it is indeed lovely being married. We have started catching up on TV shows we didn't manage to get into early enough and have 2 episodes of season one of Lost awaiting us when he gets home from work. Hurrah! Today has been a crafty day- I made another pair of earrings, these with only one branch I'm also working on a very fun, but secret crafty project- secret because it is for someone who occasionally reads this blog and I don't want to spoil the package I'm going to send them. But once I know it is safely in their hands, I'll share pictures. In other daily news, did you know that if you go to one of those CoinStar machines at the grocery store and get a giftcard with your change, they don't charge you 8 cents for every dollar they count? It's true! After I saw that in a magazine I took the contents of our overflowing penny bowl (a very chic Conran Shop penny bowl given me by my equally chic boss at one of my old jobs) and got a $7 Starbucks card. Whee! Like sheep shoes, it is these small things that tip the day over from very good to excellent. And now I have this recipe for Parmesan chicken in the oven smelling very nice indeed. I hope it tastes as good as it smells! I'll let you know tomorrow-- oh, and I substituted olive oil for half of the butter, since it seemed rather a lot!
