2006-11-28 * Bright Little Urchin NaNoWriMo hasn't left a lot of time for serious crafting around here (ahem, please look to your left), but of course my crafting compulsion must be fed, so I find ways to slip in quick things, or at least cook (which of course is necessary, but also feels crafty, especially when trying something new). Today's instant gratification craft story: I brought home some sea urchin shells from Key West, determined to re-create a pretty little light my mother and I saw for $60(!) which was basically a lightbulb in a stand with an urchin shell on top. At Walgreen's today I found a wee little battery operated tea light (for cheap) and thought I'd give it a try. And to my surprise (it is a pretty wimpy little light) it worked beautifully I stuffed a little brushed aluminum basket with enough tissue to hold the light up, then rested the urchin shell on top. I also got some more cookie cutters for an all girls' crafty ornament party next week:
