It has been a busy few days! Yesterday when taking the Bart out to Oakland for a meeting, I saw this

Don't you love it? Ah the crafty Bay area.

Thanks to one of my wonderful friends, I've been offered the opportunity to sell some of my bags on consignment at a local boutique. I'll be bringing in a selection for the owner to pick from on Thursday. Of course this has spurred me to make even more than I had planned for this weekend's Feria Urbana, so I'm cutting and pinning and sewing away. Today's bag is this one:

Of course there are more in various stages of completion, but I just think this style is so cute and useful-- just big enough for a wallet, mobile phone, digital camera and other key odds and ends. I do not approve of wooden handles for great big bags (if my bag is big, I'm going to fill it with stuff, which will be very uncomfortable to carry if the handles are hard and can't be put over my shoulder), but I think they are perfect for something small.

I've got a lot more sewing to do tomorrow and over the next few days. Once Feria Urbana is over, I think my sewing machine deserves a little trip to the shop for a tune-up, it has served me faithfully for quite awhile now!
