I am supposed to be on a plane right now. But at 2:30am my phone rang (fortunately it was by the bed to function as my alarm clock), and it was the airline, telling me that my flight had been cancelled and they wouldn't be able to get me on another one until tomorrow. Can you imagine? What if I had a wedding to go to? Or special, important surgery to perform? Or, you know, my super-cute parents to hang out with...hey wait! that is exactly my important mission, and it has been thwarted by the stupid airline. I think they need to give me a present, but all I got was a new e-ticket.

Aaanyway, I guess you should be careful what you wish for, because before I went to bed last night I wondered, "What would it be like to be totally ready for a trip more than 10 hours in advance?" And suddenly, despite myself, I am! So today feels like a free day, since all of my pressing *things* were done yesterday.

This morning I made a small patchwork blanket for the GetCrafty Handmade Holiday Drive

It is blanky-sized, and I hand-tied it because quilting is a bit beyond me

I put the finishing touches on my first Stitchette, then sewed her to backing and stuffed her

I'd like to make another mini-quilt out of of the backing fabric with a pocket on it for her to live in.

And because I love pictures, I'll show you the skirt I finished on Monday for my friend Camilla:

She tried it on and it looks adoreable on her.

So, it is just about noon and I have the rest of my unexpected free day ahead for more crafty adventures!
