2007-02-01 * Pattern Refashion Passion

Apologies to those of you who hang out over at Wardrobe Refashion, since you'll already have seen this, but today I fused together these:

which I previously used to make these

and made this

Which I have to tell you unashamedly that I absolutely love. The fabric is soft and flowery and drapey and reminds me of the Burne-Jones Sleeping Beauty series (or was it Briar Rose? whatever), and it fits like a glove and then is all swirly around my knees. I just adore it and I'm so happy I finally found this fabric (it was shoved to the bottom of a bag of other cottons), just in time to give in to this particular brainstorm.

I will wait for one of the hen's teeth truly balmy days in San Francisco to wear it and stroll around somewhere lovely, perhaps North Beach, then to the Ferry Building Farmer's Market with one of those woven French market bags with leather handles (in which I will put an artisanal baguette, organic heirloom vine ripe tomatoes, red wine and a Miette cupcake for a picnic somewhere). Mmm hmmm, just you wait and see.

Tonight was my first Thurday of the month girls' night (it is a good tradition, you should try it! you don't break into the weekend, and everyone knows what day to put on their calendar in advance). We went to the SF MOMA for dinner/drinks and then to wander the exhibits. It was so much fun (though there was perhaps more chatting than deep art appreciation) and the fabulous Toast'n'Candy brought me an exciting and inspiring crafty gift which I will share with you once I've had a chance to absorb and enjoy it.

Enough from me now (can you tell I had a glass of wine? straight to my giddy head, I tells ya). Sweet dreams and there should be some more crafting tomorrow (though I doubt anything to rival today's triumph)

reading: between books, help!
coveting: more lovely drapey cotton fabric (Liberty prints, yummy)
